I was dancing as soon as I could walk and I'll be dancing even after
I can't. It is the best expression of my soul that I can think of -- to
watch me dance is to understand a lot about me. I frequently performed
in the family living room, clad only in my "party" slip and -- for reasons
that escape me now -- white gloves. I thought ballerinas should wear white
gloves.

Here you see me in my first dance recital at age six. This bee costume
hangs on my bedroom wall today. (I have a hard time letting go of some
things!) Coincidentally, Deborah means bee in Hebrew. I took ballet for
eight years and many other dance classes after that -- modern, jazz, tap,
even belly dancing.
